Materials:

LEGO bricks

FUN!

Bell/buzzer to ring

Problem:

This was a fun end of the year lesson that allow the students to have fun building with the LEGO pieces.

Procedure:

Set the desks up in a U-shaped formation.  Then give each student a handful of LEGO pieces and tell them to start building.  After about 5 minutes, ring the bell, and tell each student to pass what they have built to their left.  Then the next student builds onto what the first student built without removing any pieces.  Continue this until time runs out and then have the students observe the different structures that were created and how what the built in the beginning changed.  One problem is that some of the structures were unstable and began to fall apart after a few turns.  So try to emphasize in the beginning the importance of building a sturdy base from which the next student can built off of more easily.
