WeDo kits with the sensors
Potentially kids might want extra wheels (for pulleys/cars)
Tape/string (if students want to make an elevator
We wanted to introduce the students to sensors. To do this we did the Human Robot activity with a twist--First we had the students program a STOMPER to find the door, then we changed the starting location and the students needed a different program. So we talked them through the idea of a sensor and had them do the Human Robot activity again where they described a program that would work no matter where the STOMPER started. We asked the students to design and build something and then program it using a sensor. We reminded the students of some things they had previously built and talked about how they could incorporate sensors into their program.
Students planned their design and then built. When they were ready they programmed.
