GRADUATE STUDENT FORUM WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH COMMITTEE
Monday, April 12, 5 pm 6 pm, Barnum 104
As you know, President Bacow has announced his intention to step down in June 2011. The Board of Trustees has formed a search committee and retained the firm of Isaacson Miller (the same firm who led the successful Bacow search) to assist the board in selecting our next president.
The search committee is embarking on a "listening tour" to meet with key constituents across the Tufts community. The committee will synthesize what they learn into an "Opportunity and Challenge Profile" which the search firm will share with prospective candidates and key sources. In addition, the committee will use the feedback from the listening tour to establish the criteria for evaluating the skills and experience of presidential candidates.
We are pleased to invite the graduate student community to meet with members of the search committee on Monday, April 12 from 5:00 to 6:00 in Barnum 104 to share our ideas on the search and on the future of the University.
Some questions to think about in advance of the meeting are:
- How is Tufts positioned today
- As you look forward, what are the most important things you want the next president to preserve?
- What are the seemingly intractable problems that Tufts must begin to make progress on?
- What must the next president do to be genuinely successful at Tufts?
I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to let your voice be heard.
This is a substitute for the Deans Coffee Hour; coffee and refreshments will be provided.
