Introduce kids to x-y coordinatesExplain that x means going left and right (positive numbers = right, negative numbers = left, bigger numbers = bigger steps, your starting point is always 0,0)Explain that y means going up and down (same concepts as before)

How can the EDP or engineering design practices be incorporated into this activity?
Comment: We originally were making the students move SCRATCH by using degrees and just moving forward. X-Y coordinates are a lot more intuitive for students. Some students did not understand the difference between moving 10 steps in the x or y direction and going to a specific point.
