  1. The objective of the semester was to build a mars rover and the first part is to build the NXT car. We didn't want to give away exactly how to build the car, or how to attach the wheels, so we only told the students that they needed to make a vehicle with only two motors that would be able to go back and forth and turn. This activity took two class sessions. After the first class, most of the groups had attached the motors, but in a way they either made the brick drag on the ground or so that it would easily tip over. After the second class, all of the groups except a couple had functioning cars and were ready to move on in the next class.
