Welcome to the Galactic Ecosystems wiki and website. This site is concerned with the internal workings of star-forming galaxies, including our own Milky Way galaxy, and their relations to life in the cosmos. It was originally created to serve the needs and interests of Tufts University students who took the seminar courses on "Galactic Ecosystems" and "Cosmochemistry and Astrobiology" with Professor Bill Waller. It continues as a means of fostering interactions among participants engaged in the fledgling Galactic Ecosystems Research and Education (GERM) Initiative. This group currently consists of scientists and students in the Boston area. Finally, this site is intended to be of interest to others who have ever marveled at the complex and evolving processes that characterize the Milky Way and other star-forming galaxies. For further information, please contact Bill Waller at <waller@cove.com>.
