Presenter Information for Daytime Time Slots

See the Attachment TAB for Abstract Information from February 8 Event.

 Overview

The below chart details the structure of the day.  In each time slot we are looking for a "Master of Ceremonies" to keep the flow of the presentations going, and at least 2 featured presenters.  If you are able to present, please edit this page by entering your name and title of your presentation in the appropriate spaces under "master of ceremonies or featured presenters."  We can have as many as 4 featured presentations per time slot.  Additional Information that may be helpful:

  • Please try to have your presentations completed by Wednesday, January 23, 2008.  Once complete, contact Lionel Zupan, lionel.zupan@tufts.edu,  to discuss any technical needs so that the flow from presentation to presentation can be smooth.
  • If you are presenting in a time slot, if possible, please try to commit to being there for the entire hour.  People will be coming and going and there will likely be more than one opportunity to present your information during the time slot.  We also want to make the presentations as interesting for the last people to arrive as it was for the first people.
  • Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of your presentation.
  • In order to make the day as rich as possible, please sign up for as many time slots as you can.
  • Presentations, including introductions and time for questions should be between 10 and 12 minutes in length for the day time slots.  Please see the Trustee page for specific information about their event
  • While we have both Linux and Windows environments on the viswall graphics workstation, rebooting between the two environments during a presentation will not be possible during the Trustees' presentation and probably also best to avoid for the day presentations. Since Bruce's presentation as well as our stereo material is under Linux, we would prefer all presentations to be under Linux. But this will be a challenge. So we are thinking of running the Windows presentations out of a laptop that we will display on the viswall, but there may be hardware limitations with the laptop solution. So I would say that Linux is recommended but Windows is available. Please revisit this page to see if more info is available.
Dress Rehearsal
  • There will be two dress rehearsals: one on Friday, February 1 and another on Tuesday, February 5, each will be from 3:00 - 5:00 PM.  It would be great to see how everything flows on those days so that we can ensure that the presentations transition smoothly on the big day.    If you have restrictions on those days, please contact Lionel Zupan.
Abstracts

For those participating in either the general event or the Trustee event, we request a short, 1 -2 paragraph abstract by January 23 so that we may create handouts for the event that attendees can keep.   Please send your abstract to Rebecca Sholes at rebecca.sholes@tufts.edu.
